Tomorrow, 25th July 2018, is the day when thousands of Pakistanis will cast their valuable vote and will form a new government, hopefully. And like for any other democratic nation, the elections day is being made as one big event for Pakistan as well. Not only contesting political parties and their leaders but other responsible citizens and institutions of this country are trying their best to encourage people to perform their national duty as well.
Unlike India, Germany or England where turnout on election day comes close to hundred percent, People in Pakistan tend to avoid this day by hiding behind the pile of their self-made ‘problems’, like:
- It’s too hot and the polling station is too far
- I don’t have a transport of my own how will I go to the polling station
- I don’t think anyone deserves my vote
- What worst can happen if I didn’t cast the vote, it’s not like the government will form on my ”one vote”
While the above three reasons are plain stupid to even address, the fourth reason boils the blood in my body. When you hear the slogan, ‘ every vote makes a difference’, it really means something!
While you think you are the only one who’s not making efforts to go to the polling booth, there are tons of other people like you, who think the same and sit in their homes. And this huge majority of ‘one person’, can make a difference if they stepped out of their comfort zones.
So before my mental state goes from normal to keyboard jehadi, let’s get to the real topic of today’s food blog.
