Mehwish-Hayat-as-Benazir-Bhutto

Benazir Bhutto, a name in Pakistan which calls for women empowerment so loudly that even after this person’s death, we associate women empowerment with her name. She was an extraordinary woman herself. Being the first Female Prime Minister of Pakistan and also in the history of the Muslim World, she emerged as a warrior in a battlefield with men and their gigantic armies. Her leadership skills, confidence, bravery, and self-belief made her an epitome of women leadership in a patriarchal society. Her selfless work for her fellow citizens is applaudable and because of that, she became an international figure. One may disagree with her political beliefs but you just can not deny the fact that she was a determined woman who had all the powers in her hand to bring major changes in a country like Pakistan which needs a true leader. She proved to be a patriot till her last breath.
Benazir Bhutto has since become a national hero and has inspired millions through her work. This inspiration has made many to put her life into books, documentaries, and movies. Recently a leading actor of Pakistan, Mehwish Hayat announced on her social media page, Instagram that she soon be being seen portraying the life of Benazir Bhutto in a movie and she is honored to be playing her character on the big screen. On a long note on the Instagram app, she shared how Benazir Bhutto inspired her and how she wants to become at least a quarter of what Benazir Bhutto was. A dynamic influential figure.
Mehwish Hayat is a tremendous actor herself. She has worked in a number of blockbuster projects that have not just made a name for her in Pakistan but also on the other side of the border. Some of her notable performances in which she showcased what her versatile actress she includes Mere Qatil Mere Dildar, Miratul-Uroos, and Dil Lagi. She has not only worked in TV dramas and Telefilms but also worked her magic in movies as well. For her excellent performances, she has bagged several awards as well. Just recently, she was awarded for her performance in her movie Panjab Nahi Jaongi which was loved by audiences all across the country. She played the role of a young confident girl alongside Humayun Saeed.

In the long note that Mehwish Hayat shared she wrote,

"We have broken glass ceilings, we have broken the stereotypes, and we have been and continue to be prepared to go the extra mile, to be judged by unrealistic standards, to be held more accountable." Today would have been Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto's 65th birthday. It is an ideal time to reflect on her undoubted achievements. I have never really been a political person but leaving that aside there is no denying the great strides she made for women's empowerment and equality in our country – everything we are still fighting for even today. There was a time when she made women believe that almost anything was possible – she gave us hope and inspired us to reach for the stars. I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to research and learn more about her life and sitting here I can only reflect on so much more that could have been had she not lost her life so tragically. The sign of a true leader is the legacy they leave behind and the reverence with which the people remember her irrespective of party allegiances. She was a truly remarkable woman and I look forward to giving life to her story soon. ☑️ #MH #MehwishHayat #lostinreality

Trending in top news stories, this came as a huge surprise and a good news for both, the Benazir Bhutto and the Mehwoish Hayat fans. Soon when this post was shared people took to their social media handles to show their excitement and also their support to Mehwish Hayat.

But there were some people amidst all of this, which was bothered by this news.

While fans were happy to hear the news, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari did not feel the same way. She felt that this was unacceptable since no one from the family was asked or contacted for consent. She took to Twitter to show her dislike towards the news. She tweeted, “Certainly no consent from her living heirs/children was sought. Absolutely unacceptable and we will be taking action against it.” Bakhtawar’s tweets show that the family of Benazir Bhutto have kept in the dark about this whole biopic and were not asked for their permission on this whole ordeal.

But wh Mehwish noticed the tweet she did not take long to clarify. “There is a project at the very early stages of development about your amazing mother. This cannot and will not be done without the consent or blessing of the family. I am sure that the team involved will be in touch before they progress further..”

She also added that irrespective of any film I would love to meet Benazir’s daughter someday and learn more about their mother.

Whatever this whole situation in which we don’t know the truth of but we hope that both parties settle and come together to agree on one point. And yes we have our fingers crossed as are impatiently waiting to see Mehwish Hayat one of the leading and loved female actors of Pakistan as our national hero Benazir Bhutto.
