LATEST NEWS: Whatsapp has announced to soon add an option to use stickers on the messaging app. Now you will soon be able to send stickers to your friends and family on Whatsapp. In addition to this news, designers and developers from across the world will be able to create stickers of their own and contribute to Whatsapp using an app for it.
When you live in a world where different giant applications are constantly cheating the features of each other and adapting the same in their own application, every new feature that is announced in an app, you can well predict other apps too launching the same on their platform. When the feature of stories came on Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp did not want to stay behind by any point and added the same story feature on Facebook and Whatsapp respectively. The status feature and the GIFs too followed their ways on every available social networking app or site.
Now that the competition is pretty strong and this social networking and connecting apps never leave an opportunity to copy others, we are amazed that Whatsapp did not have the stickers option available till now.
However, the famous world widely used app Whatsapp is finally rolling the stickers out in their game as well. Whatsapp recently announced it on their official website on a blog post that the company will have stickers launched in the application very soon in iOS and in Android as well. This will be coming in a few weeks as reported by the company, however, some users have already reported that the new update already made the feature fully functional and available in their devices.
Whatsapp said in the blog post that the app was already equipped with status and animated gifs that drew a huge round of appreciation and likeness by the users and they are found frequently using both the features. These features made Whatsapp all the more exciting, fun and super easy to use. And as they announce the introduction of stickers they are thrilled to say that this will add to the overall excitement while using Whatsapp for connecting to your people.
This seems like a brilliant idea because it makes talking much more fun, exciting and undoubtedly super easy. For all the times you would want to send an angry emoji (that has lost its intensity now), you can send a sticker instead to let the person know that you are actually very easy.
As put into words by Whatsapp itself in a blog post on their website,
” From emoji and camera features to Status and animated GIFs, we’re always looking to add new features that make communicating with friends and family on WhatsApp easy and fun. Today, we’re excited to introduce a new way for people to express themselves with stickers “
The blog on their official website that announced the coming of stickers also said that stickers help the communicator to share the emotions in the rawest form which are often not communicated in the same manners as felt. But the help of stickers, this will be conveyed easily. Whatsapp also confirmed that the stickers which will be available are partly designed by their in-house team and a part of it is designed by different contributors that work for the company.
” Whether with a smiling teacup or a crying broken heart, stickers help you share your feelings in a way that you can’t always express with words. To start, we’re launching sticker packs created by our designers at WhatsApp and a selection of stickers from other artists “
They have added a bunk of third-party stickers in order to support and promote designers and developers from around the globe. However, this is not it. The app will have an option for the users to design their own stickers from Android and iOS both. And for the same purpose, Whatsapp has created a set of APIs and interfaces that will let the interested people craft their own sticker apps to add stickers to Whatsapp from their Android and iOS devices.
” We’ve also added support for third-party sticker packs to allow designers and developers around the world to create stickers for WhatsApp. To do this, we’ve included a set of APIs and interfaces that allow you to build sticker apps that add stickers to WhatsApp on Android or iOS. “
In the same blog post, Whatsapp has explained how the app can be accessed and installed in the devices.
“You can publish your sticker app like any other app to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and users who download and install your app will be able to start sending those stickers right from within WhatsApp. You can learn more about creating your own sticker apps for WhatsApp here. “
However, to access the sticker pack and add stickers to the chat, all you have to do is tap on the new sticker icon in the text input field, which opens a whole menu of stickers. Just like how it works on Facebook, first, you will have to download the sticker pack you want before you can begin using it. Once downloaded all you need, you can simply tap on any sticker you want and add it in your chat. Whatsapp has also published a detailed guide on their website on how to access the stickers.
Currently, the stickers are not available for everyone, as the company said that the sticker system will be available in the coming weeks. The sticker system will be available for Android and iPhone very soon.
