COAS Gen Bajwa, Atif Aslam, Malik Riaz and many more donate to the dam funds

After the call for help by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistanis across and outside of the country are pouring in their share of contribution to the dam funds.

In a video message recorded on the national News Channel, PTV, Imran Khan urged the country and specifically the Overseas Pakistanis to donate to the dam funds. He announced a merger of Prime Minister dam funds and Chief Justice of Pakistan dam fund to promote people to donate as much as they can so that together we can secure the future of our beloved home.

Right after the appeal made by PM Khan, people began donating from every nook and country of Pakistan.

Celebrities, politicians, sports personalities, businessmen and even the general public played their part in contributing to this cause so that dams can be established in the country in their right time as insisted by the PM.

Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa

One of the many big names that contributed to the dam funds includes the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa who called on the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar at the Supreme Court and handed over a cheque of Rs1,005.919 million for the construction of dams. Not only this but back in June, the ISPR had announced that all the officers of all three armed forces that are Army, Navy and Air Force will contribute their two days’ pay and the soldiers will contribute one day’s pay to the dam fund. In addition to this, the army welfare organizations also their made contributions.

Atif Aslam

The star singer Atif Aslam also contributed to the funds for the construction of the dams. On Sunday morning Atif Aslam met the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar at his residence and presented him a cheque of Rs 2.5 million as his contribution.

Aleem Dar

Aleem Dar, the Elite Panel Umpire of ICC, decided to donate $ 10,000 to the dam fund and appreciated the efforts of all the concerned authorities involved in this work.

in a statement, he said,

“I appreciate the efforts of the chief justice and prime minister to construct dams in Pakistan.”

He also said

This noble initiative will benefit our present and future generation,”

Malik Riaz

The business magnate, Malik Riaz, donated a whopping sum of Rs. 5 crores to the dam funds

Hamza Ali Abbasi

Hamza Ali Abbasi took to Twitter to announce that he has donated Rs. 300,000 to the dam funds and requested others as well to play their part.

Speaker National Assembly

Asad Qaisar, Speaker National Assembly, announced to donate his first salary as the speaker.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail

Imran Ismail will donate his salary of one year to the dam funds.
