Karachi: The film ‘cake’ has been submitted as Pakistan’s official entry to Oscars which are to be taken place in 2019.
The movie ‘Cake’ which was released earlier this year received an amazing response from the audience as well as the critics and did a good business overall. The stellar cast did a job that they are used to and showcased brilliant acting which made everyone praise the movie. The received massive appraisal and love from the audience.
The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee which is chaired by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has decided to submit the movie ‘Cake’ for Oscar 2019 consideration in the ‘Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 91st Academy Awards. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy who has won Academy Award and Emmy Award have made this decision along with other members of the board.
However, the final nominees will be chosen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and all other award categories will be decided as well including the Best Foreign Language Film in January 2019.

The complete and final list of Oscar nominees will be announced the following year on January 22, 2019, along with a presentation show for the 91st Academy Awards which are scheduled to take place on 24th of February 2019.

The movie has no glamor and no exaggeration and this is exactly what the audiences loved to see in the midst of movies like JPNA and others. The beauty of this movie is the layers of it which have been presented so simply and in a realistic tone. The storytelling capacity of the movie’s director is one thing we can not stop praising.
However, we believe it is an advanced concept for people who may have grown up watching Bollywood films and hence they may not like it. The movie is wonderfully made.
